Some religious fanatics will say that governments are abandoning God and the their God is very angry at this fact. I find it fascinating that those who say such things are busy quoting what god said or is saying. Obviously they must be people of faith, as they appear to state these quotes as fact, thus they must fully be immersed in their vision of their God and believe that their particular rendition of what humans often call god is indeed a reality.When they state governments have abandoned god; some are referring to the separations of Church and State, yet as we see in nations, countries and cultures where there is no separation lots of horrific abuses to human rights in the name of their chosen god or sacred religious literature. Heck they even riot over cartoons of their gods these days?When you ask them the deeper questions, they will say imply that Satan is running government? What they are eluding to is they believe that "evil" is the resultant and that Government = Evil? Either way, to which government do they refer, because I am rather fond of mine and believe it is doing the best it can under the circumstance to right itself where it has fallen down in its duties.If we probe this line of reasoning further we can see that it is a very good thing that governments are distancing themselves from religion and those who are running around with apocalyptic doom and gloom, end of days conspiracy theories. Lets all hope that the separation of church and state can be a world-wide mandate, not just something that happens in some of the first world nations. Consider this in 2006.Lance Winslow
